Rafting on Tumcha river, 8 days
Tumcha
river
runs on the south of Murmansk province, behind a Polar Circle. Many
rapids make this river specially attractive. Rapids are sometimes
formed by narrow rocky ledges, too narrow for raft sometimes.
Therefore, for this river we use catamarans. All the rapids are
localized, therefore.

1st day
|
Arrival to
Kandalaksha with morning train (16, 212) and meeting at the train
station.
Transfer to Allakkurtti town (100 km).
Preparation for rafting.
Dinner and overnight in the tents.

2nd day
|
Breakfast.
Preparation of the group and
individual equipment. Briefing.
Beginning of the route: Alakkurtti -
Waterfall rapid (1-2 category)
- Pervenets rapid - Padun waterfall (3 category). Leader will make a
decision about going through the rapids in each case.
Lunch on the route.
Arrival to the camping place, pitching
the tents.
Dinner and overnight in the tents.

Breakfast.
Striking the tents, packing of the
gear. We proceed to the rapids
Krivoy, Yurjev Den, Krasivy, Yama, Kotel, Karniz, Shlyapa. All the
rapids are local and, should the need arise, may be walked around.
Lunch break.
Arrival to the camping place, pitching
tents, dinner,
free time.
Overnight in the tents.

gear. We proceed to the rapids
Krivoy, Yurjev Den, Krasivy, Yama, Kotel, Karniz, Shlyapa. All the
rapids are local and, should the need arise, may be walked around.

|
Breakfast.
We leave Tumcha and enter Iov Lake.
Here the boat will transfer us
to Zarechensk (45 km), then car would transfer us to train station at
Kandalaksha (90 km).
Departure from Kandalaksha to your
place of residence.

A field sauna will be organaized in one of the days.
Excursion to the Vodopadny rapid on Kutsayoki river may be organized on
one of the days. Decision will be made by a guide.
