North Pole Express

Day 1
Transfer from your hotel in Longyearbyen (on
request we can book your accommodation in Longyearbyen) to the
airport. Our representative will inform you in advance about
the time of departure.
You will get aboard of AN-74 plane and fly to
the Ice Camp “Borneo”. Flight duration is 2,5 hours.
Ice Camp is situated at about 89 degrees North latitude. In
the Camp our coordinator will meet you and assist you during
your stay here. He will invite you to get aboard of a helicopter
MI-8 to fly to the exact point of the Geographical North Pole.
Flight duration is about 40 min. Depending on the weather you
will stay about one hour at the North Pole to make some pictures
and maybe make a “round the world trip”. After the
ceremony the helicopter brings you back to the ice camp.
During your stay at Borneo you have a chance
to witness a life of a typical Russian drifting ice station
as well as to meet interesting people and renowned polar explorers.
You can also make a short walk in the vicinity of the camp to
have a better feeling of the Arctic Ocean with its leads of
open water and pressure ridges. In a mess tent you will get
a North Pole Visitor Certificate and be served with a lunch
with caviar and Champagne to celebrate your achievement. Here
you can also buy the Arctic souvenirs. In about 7-8 hours from
your arrival to Borneo you will fly back to Longyearbyen. Transfer
to your Hotel.
